Amen is a response to a prayer... it’s the concluding word.
It can also be translated as “truly”,
“it is true”,
“let it be so”.
This might be a small word... just 4 letters, but it says a lot and holds immense power.
This declaration is an affirmation of prayer. A declaration spoken out over the centuries, and echoed by believers all over the world in agreement.
What are you praying today? And what prayers can you join in with, and say Amen to.
Whether it’s a long prayer, or a small prayer, whether it’s a cry for help, or a resounding thank you, this concluding word has the power to unite us in our prayers... and together, our prayers can change the world.
All the promises of God find their Yes in him.
That is why it is through him that we utter our Amen to God for his glory. (2 Corinthians 1:20)
When we realise that “Amen” and “Yes” mean the same thing, here’s what the verse says:
In Jesus Christ, God says his Yes to us through his promises; and in Christ we say our Yes to God through prayer.
When we declare God's word over our lives and other people, we must believe in faith that God can do immeasurably more than we can ask.
Ephesians 3:20New International Version
Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us,
Can we get an AMEN to that?
