THEN we choose to praise God for all that he has done. The fact that we are alive for His purposes today. The fact that yet we were far away from God He sent his Son to die for us. Praise God for His love that surrounds us and the promises he has over our lives. He will NEVER leave us or forsake us.
14 “Now therefore fear the Lord and serve him in sincerity and in faithfulness. Put away the gods that your fathers served beyond the River and in Egypt, and serve the Lord. 15 And if it is evil in your eyes to serve the Lord, choose this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your fathers served in the region beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”
God always gives us a choice. Remember the disciples when Jesus said to them "Follow me". They had a choice, they could choose to have not followed and not seen the miracles that Jesus performed, or even be part of God's plan - Church which started in the book of Acts.
We have similar choices today in a world that is full of voices and opinions. We can get so used to making our own choices, going with the flow along with everyone else, not even choosing what God wants for our lives. How easy is it to get caught up in competition with a neighbour or question why you haven't received "your" special blessing yet when everyone else around you has.
The bottom line is we are not God, He can do as He chooses and the amazing thing is. We can be part of what he wants to do in the earth. So let's forget the competition, the social media pretend stories. Forget trying to be perfect and worrying that you may not have achieved your long term goals and let's get grateful. Praise is an antidote to fear and worry. When we praise we place God at the correct position in our lives as Lord of all. His ways and His will not ours.
Let's get in a position to keep praising, being grateful and see what God can do through you.
Exciting times are ahead.
No need to worry or fear, ultimately God has got you.
What are you going to choose this morning?
